2007 is Scouting's Centennial year!
The Centennial Camporee will be held at the Laurel Creek Conservation Area. The attendance fee is $5.00 per person. All sections are welcome to come. A designated area will be set aside for the Scouting Participants. Family, friends, former scouts and scouters are all invited as well as the general public. Persons other than registered members and immediate family will camp in the regular sites available at the Conservation Area. Download the registration form to register for the camp.
Jim Tait, the Centennial Troop Patrol leader, is leading the preparations for the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Scouting that will be marked on August 1st, 2007. We need ideas and we need a committee to carry those ideas into a program for that day. Around the world "Sunrise" ceremonies and events for the day are being planned. If you would like to be part of organizing the events for North Waterloo then contact Jim Tait.
Be sure to speak to your youth members as this celebration is for them to carry Scouting into another century.

To all Groups and Leaders
The 1st Centennial Group across Canada consists of King Scouts, Queen Scouts, Chief Scouts and Queen's Ventures, both active and inactive in Scouting.
The Central Ontario Patrol consists of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and surrounding areas.
2007 marks the 100th Anniversary of Scouting worldwide. It is the plan of our Central Ontario Patrol to celebrate Scouting's birthday and future on August 1st, 2007. The anticipated forum will be a Sunrise Celebration with a community breakfast. A special campout and campfire for Cubs, Scouts, Ventures, Rovers, leaders and community, is planned to be held on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007. Location to be confirmed in early 2006.
On the same day as the sun rises around the world, similar services will be celebrating Scouting's Centennial.
The Central Ontario Patrol is looking to the involvement of our active, Beaver, Cub, Scout, Venture and Rover Groups. We will not only be celebrating the past 100 years but the future of Scouting.
This will be a Canada and worldwide celebration with Central Ontario Patrol planning our campover, campfire and Sunrise Celebration with a community breakfast.
This project will not only keep our personal Scouting memories alive but create an opportunity for youth members to build their future Scouting memories.
We would ask that you mark the above dates on your Scouting calendar and plan to attend.
The involvement of your group is being organized together with your Area Commissioner's Team.
If you have any questions or suggestions, contact the undersigned or your Area Commissioner's Team. We would appreciate confirmation of your group's interest in the above celebration events.
Yours in Scouting,
Jim Tait
