Here is the full description and responsibilities of a Youth Rep.
The Group Youth is the recognized point of contact on issues of program satisfaction and evaluation between the youth and Group Committee. The Group Youth shall be a catalyst for promoting meaningful youth involvement within the group and seeing that youth initiatives are actively supported and recognized in consultation with the Group Scouter.
Basically, a group youth represents the views and opinions of their group's members at the area level. They may also be involved in planning area youth events. It should be noted that a group youth should be at least scout age (i.e. scout, Venturer, or rover). In groups with only beavers and cubs or both, a Kim or Keeo may be the group youth.
Approximately 1 hour per week
In consultation with group section youth and leaders, the Group Scouter selects the Group Youth to be appointed by the D.A.C. Youth annually.
Will not serve more than 3 years consecutively.
